Hi all!
I'm happy to announce that Patch 3 for EIC is online!
You can use the in-game Check for updates button to get it or you can download it straight from here:

http://patches.gamersgate.com/EIC_patch3_EN.zip (English version)
http://patches.gamersgate.com/EIC_patch3_DE.zip (German version)
http://patches.gamersgate.com/EIC_patch3_FR.zip (French version)

Just select the right language version.
If you update through the in-game updating, remember to exit the game before
applying the patch.

FOR STEAM AND IMPULSE USERS:
DO NOT INSTALL this patch. You will get your version straight from Steam and Impulse!

Here's the patch notes:

Version 1.06 (August 12th 2009)

Features
- The winners of the Commander competition have been added to commander faces
- Ship starting spots have been changed in battles. Ships now start further apart.
- Check for update now informs if a patch is not available
- Ship movement has been improved
- Ships now always surrender with zero morale
- Ship masts will fall only when mast hitpoints go under 10 %
- Crew morale will go down when masts fall
- Ships with masts down won't try to flee anymore
- Cannons will get destroyed more easily

Bug Fixes
- Problems with some graphics cards fixed
- Problem with special characters in Windows User Name fixed
- Problem with game sometimes freezing in battle end fixed

WINDOWS用户名特殊字符(应该包括中文)的问题修复
战斗结束时有时会错误的修复(个人经常碰到战斗结束时跳出,极少次数战斗开始也跳,不知道修复没有)

是不是显卡的问题？
用vista 3年了，一直没出过问题，但是这几天玩东印度公司戏。别人玩都没事，但我总是玩着玩着就死机了。。。。。。

后来用驱动精灵更新了显卡驱动，但问题依旧，最近一次死机之后，每次重新开机，桌面分辨率都是变成800*600了我本来是1280*1024的。。。。。nvidia 的设置也是对的，调回去重启后还是变回800*600 郁闷啊，望高手指导下，

另外我的机子打魔兽争霸时分辨率一直是调不了的，但影响不大，大家多帮忙啊！～
